• Racers must start with their class and at the assigned time. This will be enforced as we will present medals and awards right after the last racer in each class finishes.
• Official Class Results will be posted 5 minutes after the last racer finishes in each class.
• We will award medals and prizes at our tents 15 minutes after the Official Class Results have been posted.
• No Reruns unless the course is closed during your race run

  • Important Notice for Pro Racers: The Pro Class field is locked at 1:00 pm Saturday. This means no new registrations or transfers into the Pro Classes will be accepted after this time.
  • Racers may make one class change per season and no points will carry over to the new class when a racer upgrades or downgrades their class.
  • MAXXIS ESC Racing Age is the racer’s age on December 31, 2026
  • NO Racing License Required
  • Racers must start with their class and at the assigned time. This will be enforced as we award medals and prizes right after the last racer in each class finishes.
    • Final Class Results will be posted 5 minutes after the last racer finishes in each class. If a racer misses their class starting times, they will not get a finishing position or series points and will receive a DNS
    • To allow for protests, we will award medals and prizes at our tents 15 minutes after the Class Results have been posted.

Course Marshal Volunteer Registration
Join our team of course marshals! Help us ensure a safe and successful event for all participants.
 
Thunder Mountain and the Maxxis ESC are looking for course marshals for practice day (Aug 8th) and race day (Aug 9th). In return for one day of volunteering, you will receive a bag lunch on your day of volunteering as well as a voucher for one of the following: (2) All Day lift Tickets for Thunder Mountain Bike Park, (2) All Day Ski Lift Tickets, (1) MT or VJ Zip Line Tour, or (1) Fife Brook Raft Trip.

No prior volunteering or biking experience necessary; we will gladly train you. You will access the race trail on foot after taking the chairlift to the top. We will escort you to your position down the trail. Some hiking down the trail may be necessary, if you have any mobility issues please make note of that below and we will be in contact with you asap to make arrangements. A majority of your day will be spent while positioned in the woods, so please dress and plan accordingly.  
 
Duties include: Monitoring a course section during race or practice, keeping spectators off the race course, notifying competitors of oncoming bikers, notifying the head marshal of any crashes, and cheering on competitors. Please note that the estimated end time depends on when the race ends. It is a fun event, and we are excited to help promote biking in Western Massachusetts.

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL, EVEN IF IT’S YOUR FIRST TIME RACING. NO Racing License Required

PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR LIFT PASS, OTHERWISE IF YOU LOSE IT, YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT FROM THUNDER MOUNTAIN

ONSITE REGISTRATION: Racers under 18 must have a parent/guardian present to complete their waiver to receive a lift ticket.

Online Registration closes on the Wednesday before the Event at 11:59pm

RACE FEES – Include a Saturday Practice Lift Pass and a Sunday Race Lift Pass

  • DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION – Online Early Bird Registration closes 2 weeks before the event  -$10 Off Standard Pricing

Waivers

If you preregistered on this page, you have already filled out the Maxxis ESC waiver.

Thunder Mountain Waivers will be available at registration or you can print one out and bring it with you.

THUNDER MOUNTAIN WAIVER

All racers must sign a MAXXIS ESC and a Thunder Mountain waiver before practicing or registering at all events. Racers under 18 must have a parent sign their waiver or provide a notarized parental signature.

Come hang out in The Backyard between laps!  Grab some food and a drink from the Thunder Mountain Taqueria, pull up an Adirondack chair, and enjoy the sun!

Breakfast information – The taqueria will open at 7am for coffee; breakfast will be ready at 730am. Breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos are available.

CAMPING

Info

  • $30 for one night or $40 for two nights. Pay onsite per car.
  • Cash only
  • Plate numbers written down. 
  • Give campers a tag to hang under their windshield to indicate they have paid. 
  • No electrical or RV hookups  
  • Showers are available in the West Lodge.
  • Porta-johns available in the lot
Rules
  • Firearms & Fireworks – All firearms and fireworks of any kind are strictly prohibited.
  • Generators – The use of generators is strictly prohibited
  • No open fires
  • Dish Washing – Washing dishes is prohibited in the bathroom sinks and showers.
  • Per our liquor license, consumption of outside alcohol is prohibited.
  • Riding is not allowed on TMBP trails after park hours. The DRT trails are accessible at any time.
  • Clean up your trash.
  • Quiet Hours: Please be considerate of those around you and reduce noise after 8:00pm. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash no longer than 10′ at all times. Do not leave pets unattended in the campground, on the property, or in vehicles. Pets are not allowed in any buildings. We understand that your pet is a member of your family, but please be courteous to other campers and do not let your dog bark. Campers are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. If your pet is a disturbance, threat, or nuisance to others, we reserve the right to ask you to leave without a refund.

 

MAXXIS ESC Number Plates:
Racers must display their 2026 MAXXIS ESC number plate while practicing or racing on the course. Only racers with a valid and registered 2026 MAXXIS ESC number plate are permitted on the course. These number plates can be purchased at each race for $10 and are valid for the entire season. Any modifications to the plate will result in disqualification, and the lettering and logos must remain completely intact, with no cuts allowed.

If you have not paid for your 2025 Maxxis ESC number plate, please note it is CASH only and  ATM machines are on site.

Men’s and Women’s Pro Race Payouts:
1st = $600
2nd = $300
3rd = $200
4th = $100
5th =   $50

SHUTTLING
Shuttling will result in a disqualification unless allowed explicitly in our racer’s letter or racer’s meeting.

ENDURO:

COURSE TIME LIMIT: Racers will have 4 hours to complete the course from their starting time

Once activated, it is Imperative that Enduro Racers DO NOT allow their Race chips to be idle near the start or finish beacons; The chips will constantly read the times broadcast by the beacons. The timing chips have a capacity of 100 time stamps and will quickly run out of space. After reading 100 time stamps, the timing chip will no longer read any more times. As a result, no times will be recorded, and you will be declared a DNF.

Enduro Racers will be charged the replacement cost of $100.00 for broken, lost or non-returned timing chips

Enduro Racers must be present at their start time at the ESC tents, where we will activate their chips

Enduro Racers MUST hand in their timing chips within 15 minutes after finishing the last stage or they will be penalized 1 minute, after 30 minutes racers will be DQ’d from the event

DH Racers MUST be at the start for their posted start time, racers not at the start for their scheduled start time will be disqualified from the day’s competition if their Maxxis ESC Racer’s DH class results have been posted at the finish or registration area

Racers MUST be present at the Series Final Award Ceremonies or at the Race Award Ceremony 
to Receive Awards and/or Cash Payouts!

Please drive slowly through the neighborhood while visiting our venues, we do not want to upset the neighbors and please visit the local restaurants and let them know you are there because of the enduro race.

We will be offering our 2026 Maxxis ESC Socks, Pint Glasses and T-Shirts at our registration tents, please remember its cash only

  • NUMBER PLATES– Will be sold at registration for $10 each. A 2026 MAXXIS ESC Number Plate must be affixed correctly to your bike always while on the tracks. You will not be allowed to ride without one. No cuts or trimming allowed on the plate, please.
  • CASH ONLY– ATM onsite
  • BUG SPRAY – You will want it and please don’t ask for ours…lol
  • COLD – Temps expected in the 30’s overnights
  • RAIN – Don’t even go there !!

YOUTH 14U CLASS

  • The 14U Class will do the same stages and in the same order as the Kids’ 12U Class
  • The 14U Class will start behind and must not pass the Kids’ 12U Class.
  • Kids 12U and 14U racers may only compete in one discipline per weekend

KIDS’ 12U CLASS

  • In the Enduro, racers in this class will compete in fewer race segments than other racers.
  • This is the “for the FUN of it” class!!
  • Kids 12U and 14U racers may only compete in one discipline per weekend

Enduro Kids 12U, Youth 14U and Enduro Lite: Racers MUST stay with the Maxxis ESC Adult Group leaders during the race. Will compete on sections 4-5-1-2 in that order.

ENDURO LITE CLASS
 This class is intended for beginner and new enduro racers to experience the excitement of enduro racing. Participants will receive a total race time and a time for each segment, but will not compete for Maxxis ESC Podiums, Prizes, or the Series Championship. This class is all about having fun! The Enduro Lite format provides enjoyable tracks suitable for riders of all levels, focusing on women, kids, and first-timers. The emphasis is on learning and having a good time with like-minded mountain bikers rather than results or prizes.

PLEASE NOTE: Enduro Lite Class racers are required to stay with the Kids 12U Class and race the segments in the same order. Enduro Lite Class Racers may only compete in enduro at our Thule Showdown Events.

MAXXIS ESC Series Race Podium
The top 5 racers in each class will make the podium, with the first, second, and third place receiving custom Eastern States Cup Podium Medals.

DOWNHILL ESC SPEED ZONE
The fastest DH racers in every class in the ESC SPEED ZONE are awarded some ESC Speed Zone swag

INTENSE BIKES PODIUM PAYBACK Program that pays cash or certificates to racers that have raced with an Intense bike and have registered with Intense. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION 

ESC Cash, When the number of racers in the men’s amateur class exceeds 50 or in the women’s amateur class exceeds 20, the class will receive a cash prize in addition to regular product prizes. The cash will be awarded as follows:

  • $100  -1st
  • $50   – 2nd
  • $25    -3rd
