The Maxxis ESC Thule Showdown at Killington Bike Park is a major event for downhill and enduro mountain bike racers on the East Coast. Racers compete on challenging natural and man-made trails that wind through Killington’s three distinct mountain areas. The “Thule Showdown” weekend features both Enduro and Downhill races, with the largest prize purse on the MAXXIS Eastern States Cup schedule awarded to riders who conquer both disciplines. This multi-day event attracts racers of all skill levels, from beginners to experts, thanks to Killington’s diverse terrain that caters to every rider’s comfort level. It’s a true test of skill and endurance, set against the backdrop of Vermont’s stunning scenery.

Killington Bike Park features three high-speed lifts serving over 30 miles of trails. From beginner to expert and classic New England singletrack to Gravity Logic’s signature flow trails, Killington Bike Park has terrain suitable for everyone.
Three unique mountain areas make up our gravity-fueled bike park. Snowshed: Home of our beginner terrain with plenty of intermediate trails to keep you progressing once you get the hang of it; Ramshead: Home of our signature freeride trails with intermediate and advanced terrain; Killington Peak: Offering classic New England trails featuring plenty of rock and roots.

VOLUNTEER HERE!!
For each shift of volunteer duty, volunteers will receive 1 Killington lift ticket, valid for one year from original earned date. Volunteers will also be provided a boxed lunch at the start of their shift.
What do volunteers do?
Course marshal positions will be outdoors & along the mountain bike racecourse. Course marshals are responsible for ensuring rider safety and traffic control. Volunteers will be placed at a specific location on the course & some hiking may be required. A course marshal meeting detailing your full duties will take place at the beginning of the shift start times.

PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR LIFT PASS, IF YOU LOSE IT AND DON’T HAVE THE PICTURE YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT FROM KILLINGTON
** NOTE: All riders on the Race Tracks at Killington on Saturday and Sunday must be registered racers with number plates. Can you imagine if all 300+ racers brought a friend?

All racers must use the dedicated Maxxis ESC Racer’s lift line at Ramshead and PLEASE be respectful of all Killington employees including the lift attendants
DH racers please note:
There will be one DH track walk time slot from 9am -9:45am Saturday morning. Track walkers must stay on the DH trail follow signs for Goat Skull. There is no track walking allowed at any other time at Killington.
No Bikes on lift during Track Walk
Enduro racers please note:
TBD (The transfer to Stage 1 and the K-1 Gondola will be pedal only. The lift access for the enduro race is the K-1 gondola to access Stages 1-2-3-4 and Ramshead to access Stage 5.) This section will be updated shortly after the Enduro tracks for this year are determined.

Important Notice for Pro Racers: The Pro Class field is locked at 1:00 pm Saturday. This means no new registrations or transfers into the Pro Classes will be accepted after this time.
Racers may make one class change per season and no points will carry over to the new class when a racer upgrades or downgrades their class.

- Racers must start with their class and at the assigned time. This will be enforced as we award medals and prizes right after the last racer in each class finishes.
• Final Class Results will be posted 5 minutes after the last racer finishes in each class. If a racer misses their class starting times, they will not get a finishing position or series points and will receive a DNS
• To allow for protests, we will award medals and prizes at our tents 15 minutes after the Class Results have been posted.
• No Reruns unless the course closes during your race run.
ONSITE REGISTERING Racers under 18 must have a parent/guardian present to fill out their waiver in order to receive a lift ticket.

MAXXIS ESC Number Plates:
Racers must display their 2025 MAXXIS ESC number plate while practicing or racing on the course. Only racers with a valid and registered 2025 MAXXIS ESC number plate are permitted on the course.
Number plates can be purchased at each race for $10 and are valid for the entire season.
Any modifications to the plate will result in disqualification. The lettering and logos must remain completely intact, and no cuts are allowed.

ENDURO:
ENDURO: Once activated it is Imperative that Enduro Racers DO NOT Allow their Race chips to be idle near the start or finish beacons; The chips will constantly read the times broadcast by the beacons. The timing chips have a capacity of 100 time stamps and will quickly run out of space. After reading 100 time stamps, the timing chip will no longer read any more times. As a result, no times will be recorded, and you will be declared a DNF.
ENDURO: Enduro Racers MUST hand in their timing chips within 15 minutes after finishing the last stage or they will be penalized 1 minute, after 30 minutes racers will be DQ’d from the event
Enduro Racers will be charged the replacement cost of $100.00 for broken, lost or non-returned timing chips
Enduro Racers must be present at the racers meeting where we will activate their chips
ENDURO: MASTERS 50+ CLASS
- The MASTERS 50+ Class MAY start first and race on TBD
ENDURO: Kids 12U and YOUTH 14U CLASS

- Once Ramshead lot fills, overflow RV/camper parking will be in the Upper Snowshed lot (follow signs for RV parking).

PARKING:Day parking is allowed in approved sections of Ramshead & Snowshed lots that aren’t reserved for overnight parking.

DOWNHILL: DH Racers MUST be at the start by their posted start time. Racers not at the start for their scheduled start time will be disqualified from the day’s competition if their Maxxis ESC Racer’s DH class results have been posted at the finish or registration area
DOWNHILL: ESC SPEED ZONE
The fastest DH racers in every class in the ESC SPEED ZONE are awarded some ESC Speed Zone swag
DOWNHILL: Seeding is Saturday at 3pm for Expert, Pro and Masters only
THULE SHOWDOWN:
The “Thule Showdown” weekends will feature both Enduro and DH races on the same day at the largest resorts on our schedule. The ESC will present high-end prizing for the top racers that race both Enduro and Downhill during the weekend.
RACERS MUST FILL OUT THE THULE SHOWDOWN SHEET AT THE ENDURO TIMING DESK BEFORE THE START OF THE FIRST RACE OF THE EVENT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THULE SHOWDOWN SERIES POINTS AND PRIZES
No race or series points will be counted if a racer only finishes one or less discipline at an event.
If a racer changes classes from their original online entry, no points will be awarded for the series or the individual Thule Showdown.
The Kate’s Kids and 14U Class racers can only participate in one discipline at Showdowns.

MAXXIS ESC Series Race Podium
The top 5 racers in each class will make the podium, with the first, second, and third place receiving custom Eastern States Cup Podium Medals. The fourth and fifth places will receive prizes from Kate’s Real Food. Some venues may offer additional prizes as part of their enhanced prize packages.
