Racers may make one class change per season and no points will carry over to the new class when a racer upgrades or downgrades their class.
MAXXIS ESC Racing Age is the racers age on December 31, 2024
NO Racing License Required

MAXXIS ESC Number Plates:
Racers must display their 2024 MAXXIS ESC number plate while practicing or racing on the course. Only racers with a valid and registered 2024 MAXXIS ESC number plate are permitted on the course. These number plates can be purchased at each race for $10 and are valid for the entire season. Any modifications to the plate will result in disqualification, and the lettering and logos must remain completely intact, with no cuts allowed.

WAIVERS
All racers must sign a MAXXIS ESC and a venue waiver prior to practicing or registering at all events. Racers under 18 must have a parent sign their waiver or supply a notarized parental signed copy. No other methods are allowed.

MAXXIS Eastern States Cup DH Series Plan:

The best 8 rounds by points count towards the series championship standings
In the event of a tie, the best position at the most recent event takes precedence
Showdown Races score 110% series points
Series Finals at Jiminy Peak scores 125% series points

The Maxxis ESC does allow reruns if the course closed during the racer’s race run
The Maxxis ESC does allow reruns if the timers request a new run due to a malfunction
The Maxxis ESC does not allow reruns if a racer is impeded by another racer

Racers must be present at the starting line for their designated start time. If a racer is not at the start line for their scheduled time and their Maxxis ESC Racer class results have been posted at the finish or registration area, they will be disqualified from the day’s competition.

MAXXIS ESC Downhill Series Race Podium
The top 5 racers in each class will make the podium, with the first, second, and third place receiving custom Eastern States Cup Podium Medals. The fourth and fifth places will receive prizes from Kate’s Real Food. Some venues may offer additional prizes as part of their enhanced prize packages.

MAXXIS ESC DH Men’s Pro and Women’s Pro/Expert Race Payouts:
1st = $600
2nd = $300
3rd = $200
4th = $100
5th =   $50

THULE SHOWDOWN SERIES
The “THULE SHOWDOWN” weekends will feature both Enduro and DH races on the same day at the largest resorts on our schedule. The Showdown Series events will carry 110% Intense DH Series Points! the ESC will present high-end prizing for the top racers that race both Enduro and Downhill during the weekend and we will count Thule Showdown Series Points towards the ESC Showdown Championship!

The Kate’s Kids’ and 14U Class racers can only participate in one discipline at ESC Showdowns.

RACERS MUST FILL OUT THE THULE SHOWDOWN SHEET AT THE ENDURO TIMING DESK BEFORE THE START OF THE FIRST RACE OF THE EVENT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR  THULE SHOWDOWN SERIES POINTS AND PRIZES

The Thule Showdown Series events will carry 110% Intense DH Series Points!

ESC SPEED ZONE
The fastest DH racers in every class in the ESC SPEED ZONE are awarded some ESC Speed Zone swag, while the fastest amateur man and amateur woman will win some cool ESC gear

INTENSE BIKES PODIUM PAYBACK Program that pays cash or certificates to racers that have race with an Intense bike and have registered with Intense. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION 

Kate’s Cash, When the number of racers in the men’s amateur class exceeds 50 or in the women’s amateur class exceeds 20, the class will receive a cash prize in addition to regular product prizes. The cash will be awarded as follows:

  • $100  -1st
  • 50   – 2nd
  • $25    -3rd

MANDATORY MOVE UPS

Any Amateur racer that scores a time that would have won the same age expert class must move up to that class, if 8 or more racers were in that expert class.

Any Amateur may be moved to the Expert Class at any time the ESC determines the move to be in the best interests competition.

Past ESC DH Amateur Series Champions from any prior season MUST race in the Expert Class (Cat1)

Past ESC DH Amateur Series Champions can petition to stay in the Amateur Class in writing via email to easternstatescup@hotmail.com

MAXXIS ESC DH Series Championship Qualifications:

The best 8 rounds by points count towards the series championship standings
In the event of a tie, the best position at the most recent event takes precedence
Thule Showdown Races score 110% series points
Series Finals at Jiminy Peak scores 125% series points

No minimum number of races is needed to qualify for DH Series Championship Standings

Any ties will be broken by placement in the series finals at Killington

Racers MUST be present at the Race Award Ceremony to Receive Race Awards and/or Cash Payouts!

In order to score series points, racers must complete the full race. DNFs do NOT score points

What’s the difference between DH and Enduro MTB Racing?

ANY ACTION TO GIVE A RACER AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE AS DEEMED BY THE ESC CAN RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION

Due to the venues and the ESC’s environmental concerns, tear-offs are not allowed at any Maxxis ESC event.

MAXXIS ESC Zero Tolerance Policy

  • Use of obscene or vulgar language at any time.
  • Taunting of racers, officials or spectators by any means including but not limited to baiting, ridiculing, threat of physical violence or physical violence.
  • Openly disputing or arguing any decision by an official.
  • Visually displays any sign of dissatisfaction with an official’s decision
